Zambrero holds annual meal packing events on #Plate4PlateDay, where volunteers come together to help pack meals for those in need. Last year we packed over 100,000 meals with 350 amazing volunteers. These meals were shipped to Africa to help change lives through our hunger relief partners Rise Against Hunger. Plate 4 Plate Day is BACK this year on Saturday October 5th, 2024 from 11am - 1pm and we plan to pack over 120,000 meals. Hosted by one of our wonderful neighbours at St. Mary's College located at Rathmines Rd Lower, Dublin 6, D06 CH79.

Simply eat with us and you'll be contributing to our Plate 4 Plate Initiative. On Saturday, 5 October 2024, we'll be contributing double donations to Plate 4 Plate for every burrito, bowl or Kids Zam Box purchase. So save the date and head into restaurant or order online to help end world hunger!
Our founder Dr. Sam Prince has used Zambrero as a vehicle to help end world hunger. By 'simply' serving the best burrito in town since 2005 we have been able to empower our customers, franchise partners and team members to help us make that difference everyday in the lives of communities that need it the most through the Zambrero Plate 4 Plate initiative. INTERNATIONAL DISTRIBUTION PARTNER
We are proud to call Rise Against Hunger our international hunger relief partner. They direct our Plate 4 Plate meals globally to communities in need, where many do not have access to adequate nutrition. The meals are donated primarily through school feeding programs, so not only are children receiving a meal they are in school receiving an education too.
In 2023, we reinstated our Annual Zam Fam Vision Trips with Rise Against Hunger. Our 2020 and 2021 annual conference award winners; Zam Fam Franchisees, suppliers and team members were rewarded with the trip of a lifetime to the Philippines and South Africa. We witnessed the impact of our Plate 4 Plate initiative firsthand on the ground in the local communities we are helping.

Rise Against Hunger meals donated by Zambrero are a nutritious combination of rice, soy and dehydrated vegetables, fortified with a vitamin mix, specifically designed to supplement the diet of malnourished individuals.
The meals have been created for easy transportation so they can reach remote areas anywhere in the world. All ingredients are rice-based so they suit the diets of most individuals as well as being vegetarian, culturally neutral and easily blended with locally available spices, vegetables and proteins. Zambrero’s contribution per meal is based on the cost of the raw ingredients and does not include packaging, shipping or meal distribution, which are covered by Rise Against Hunger and its partner organisations.
Zambrero was introduced to Ireland in 2016 and now has over 31 locations across the country. By October 2023, over 1.7 million meals have been donated in total through Zambreros in Ireland alone.
With plans to expand further, we hope to hold an even bigger Meal packing Event in 2023 with a goal of 100,000 meals!
